General Information
Description of Service: Receives reports of suspected child abuse and neglect and forwards these reports to the appropriate local district for an investigation. Not intended to be used as an emergency response law enforcement should be contacted for emergencies. Provides information and referrals in instances where the call does not result in a child protective report but further assistance is desired. Serves children birth to 18 years and 18-21 years old placed by the State Education Department into specified residential facilities.
