|Description of Agency||**During the COVID pandemic, the EOC switchboard is staffed part time from 7:30 to 1 pm M-F with no voicemail option. If you are unable to reach a staff member, please call back during the hours indicated.**
Provides support services for basic needs and advocacy to low income residents of Nassau. Offers information, referrals, transportation and emergency assistance. Funds Community Action Programs in Freeport, Glen Cove, Hempstead, Port Washington, Rockville Centre, Lakeview, Roosevelt. Also offers MLK Scholarship Program, Displaced Homemakers Program, Job Readiness/Job Placement, Summer Youth Programs, Head Start Child Development, Downstate New York Healthy Start Program, College Tours to Historically Black Colleges.
