Description of ProgramProvides quality service and advocacy for New York State veterans, armed forces members, their dependents and survivors, ensuring they receive benefits granted by law for their service to New York and the nation. Some of the services provided include: Career Assessment, Referral to Jobs, Contacting Employers on your behalf, Resume preparation assistance, Information on Federal, State and Local Civil Service Opportunities, Job Search Planning, Labor Market Information, Information on direct appointment to Civil Service positions and Referral to other agencies that provide services to veterans. Call for specific information and questions. Representatives in your area specifically trained to assist veterans in transitioning from the military, finding a new job or starting a new career. Contact your county office for current representative information.
