General Information
Description of ProgramMaintains and operates a police photographic laboratory that makes, processes and distributes such photographs, photostats, sketches and other pictorial reproductions as the operation of the Department may require including, but not limited to, the photographic service to various commands within the Department for public relations purposes. The Section locates, preserves, and records latent fingerprints at the scene of a crime and prepares such prints for introduction as evidence in criminal proceedings. The Section supervises the taking, classification and control of fingerprints and makes such searches and comparisons as required. All requests for copies of photographs and fingerprint comparisons or data are forwarded to the Section for processing. The Section maintains the following files: Fingerprint-Civil; Fingerprint-Criminal; Latent Fingerprints; Photographic Gallery. Section members will be available to give testimony in court proceedings in regard to their duties.
