General Information
Description of ProgramOffers a volunteer call-based companion coordination effort that connects social work students and those in need of social interaction to combat cabin fever and the negative effects loneliness can have on long term health. This is an interim program in response to the crises. We are a social support structure with the goal of aiding in alleviating the negative effect social isolation has on older adults. With this lock down being a necessitated because of Covid19, it has exacerbated the isolation and loneliness especially amongst our senior citizens who are socially marginalized during this crisis.
