Description of ServiceOffers one-to-one mentoring for school-aged youth at-risk of failing in school, dropping out of school, or becoming involved in delinquent behavior. The goal is that of reinforcing the youth's self-esteem, self-worth and reinforce positive self-image, bolster positive motivation and character development through a positive role model example. Our mentors serve as a friend, coach and guide to mentees with a commitment to offer support, encouragement and to nurture positive ideals. Participants meet weekly for at least one hour. Mentors commit for at least one year and are required to undergo a screening process that includes FBI criminal history, driving record, child abuse and sexual offender registry checks. Mentors are also required to attend an initial 2-hour training prior to being matched. Call for further information.
