General Information
Description of ServiceProvides meaningful volunteer opportunities for people who are in recovery from mental illness. Through the principals of peer support and self-help, companions strive to improve the quality of life for others receiving mental health services. The companions are placed in approximately 25 locations including adult homes, nursing homes and also private homes and spend time socializing, sharing wellness tools and providing companionship. This program not only offers volunteer opportunities but it is a pre-vocational program which offers weekly trainings and skill building activities to enhance abilities and readiness for gainful employment.

EligibilityJunior/Senior companions must be age 18+ and have a psychiatric diagnosis.
