General Information
Description of ServiceResponds to any whale, porpoise, dolphin or sea turtle stranding on Long Island or in New York State. Provides medical care/assistance to live animals, and eventually releases them back into the wild when possible. Conducts post-mortems on dead animals, collects tissue samples for research/analysis and prepares skeletal remains for educational institutions. Operates stranding hotline and whale/seal/sea turtle adoption program. Publishes informational brochure.
