General Information
Description of ProgramWas established to help ensure the mental health and well-being of young children and developing families by strengthening the capacity of parents and others who influence the lives of 0-5 year olds to provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate environments within a culturally sensitive framework. The Institute for Parenting provides programs for parents that include assessment, treatment, parenting education for young and developing families. Sample programs include: Therapeutic Parenting Services; Nassau County Babies Can’t Wait; Nassau County Closer to the Crib and The “I’m Here for You Now” Book Project. Sample Training programs include Master’s Program in Infant Mental Health Developmental Practice; Post Master’s Training Program in Parent Education and Parent Guidance and Post Master’s Training Program in Parent-Infant Mental Health and Trauma. Also offered are Continuing education workshops Courses and workshops vary each semester. Call for more detailed information regarding all the programs offered.
