General Information
Description of ProgramOffers legally blind individuals, ages 18 to 55, services geared to promote independent living that focus on each participant's specific needs. Services provided by nonprofit organizations, low vision certified ophthalmologists and optometrists may include adaptive equipment, orientation and mobility services, low vision devices, social work casework and rehabilitation teaching.

EligibilityMust be legally blind between ages of 18 to 55 and resident of eastern Queens counties, Nassau or Suffolk counties. Not eligible for vocational rehabilitation services; not currently receiving services through another CBVH (Commission of the Blind and Visually Handicapped) Program.
