COACHES & TEACHERS ASSISTANT PROGRAM (CTAP) CAMP

General Information
Description of ServiceCombines the fun of being a participant with important life skills such as leadership, personal development, team-work, and communication under the guidance of our experienced educators and directors. The program is for teens entering Grades 10-12 in the fall. Working under the guidance of our camp & program directors CTAP participants will observe and assist in all aspects of the camp program and typical daily activities whilst receiving performance feedback in a constructive environment to help build self confidence and interpersonal skills. There is a limited enrollment for the program and submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Applications – and recommendation letters – will be reviewed, with follow-up interviews arranged accordingly. CTAP participants will be assigned a program for a given camp session from the camp director and administrative staff. Program placement can/will vary throughout the summer to provide a well balanced experienced, and although requests can be made there are no guarantees for program placement. Acceptance to the program does not guarantee participants will be offered a summer staff position when they are eligible to apply. The program will also encompass an online learning component both before and during the summer. CTAP participants will receive a series of online video tutorials on a series of leadership and related topics. This online “training” will have a quiz component which Future Stars directors will review and discuss with the CTAP participants and also use ‘real-life’ camp experiences to further expand on these key skills and topics. CTAP participants will be required to attend a pre-summer meeting to review the program along with a discussion regarding the goals and expectations of the CTAP experience. Throughout the summer CTAP participants will have weekly meetings with program director(s) to provide feedback, host CTAP group activities, and program discussions.
