General Information
Description of ServiceOffers free public lectures on select Fridays in Lecture room 001 of the Earth and Space Sciences Building during the academic school year at 7:30pm. Usually four lectures a semester are scheduled. Lectures are based on the current research of the faculty, staff and students of Stony Brook as well as areas of interest from the public. In-service credit for teachers attending these lectures is also available. Try to be early for these lectures, increasing popularity of this series has seen the lecture hall full on occasion. Some disability-related accommodations are available. Call the Department before 4pm to inform them of your requirements. For further information and lectures dates and times contact the Department.
