    HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PREPARATION (HSE)Offers high school equivalency and literacy programs. Prepare to earn a New York State Equivalency Diploma by successfully completing the New York State Testing Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™) exam. Instruction is based on the content of the test, which includes Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Science. All classes provide job readiness training - resumes, job applications, soft skills and onsite weekly career training workshops on various topics that include business and finance, computer technology, health literacy, debt management, and financial literacy. Please note that you need to be 21 years of age or over and that we require a registration fee. Also offered is the National External Diploma Program (NEDP) which is an applied performance assessment system that evaluates reading, writing, math and workforce readiness skills of participants in life and work contexts. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a local high school diploma. This program assesses high school level skills awarding a New York State High School Equivalency diploma so graduates can meet their academic and career goals. It is designed for self-directed students with life and work experiences and a general familiarity with the computer. It offers flexible scheduling and confidentiality and evaluates 70 competencies in ten content areas including Financial Literacy, Health Literacy, Civic Literacy, Geography, History, Science, and Twenty-First Century Workplace. It also assesses competencies that are based on skills outlined in the Common Core College and Career Readiness standards. In addition BOCES offers TABE ASSESSMENT. They also provide individual TABE assessment testing in Reading and Mathematics for adults who hold a high school diploma and seek to have the test forwarded to a technical, vocational or law enforcement program.
